The last couple of days have been really busy with music! Last night I had a good time on the Regular Friday night Carey's gig and played the washboard. I kinda fell in love with it and had a great time! I'm going to have to keep washboarding it up!
Life is a continuous journey Beauty is always along the way; however, it is sometimes hidden by fatigue and attitude. My life is no exception of this.—Life is beautiful.
I grew up in the Midwest—the best place on earth to grow up. Where taking time in this busy world is still valued, where doing things the old fashioned way still happens and where family and friends are still a first priority. I grew up with a family that sat down and ate a home cooked supper most nights, with a mom that still used Ball and Kerr Jars to can strawberry and plum jams, salsa, and pickles. In the summer we would eat fresh vegetables from my Mom’s garden and watch thunder storms roll in from the north. My dad instilled in me the joy of the outdoors and now I continue be outside as much as possible. My brothers and I grew up in a home that supports the Arts and had parents that encouraged us to play music. A love for music is now instilled in each of us in different ways. I started to study flute in 5th grade and am currently pursuing a flute major, and have now taken up the guitar and folk singing. As I take the next step in my journey, I live by the mantra—Do what you like. Like what you do.
